Meet Nicolaj Siggelkow, David M. Knott Professor, Co-Director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management & Christian Terwiesch, Andrew M. Heller Professor at the Wharton School, Professor of Operations, Information and Decisions, Professor of Health Policy, Perelman School of Medicine, Co-Director, Mack Institute of Innovation Management and hear about their new book of Connected Strategy published by HBS press.
Professor Siggelkow’s current research focuses on the strategic and organizational implications of interactions among a firm’s choices of activities and resources. As recognition of his groundbreaking research on strategy, Nicolaj has been elected as a Fellow of the Strategic Management Society, the leading association of strategy researchers around the world. He has been the recipient of more than 30 MBA and Undergraduate Excellence in Teaching Awards, including the Lindback Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award, the highest teaching award of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Helen Kardon Moss Anvil Teaching Award, the highest teaching award of Wharton. He has developed the on-line course “Business Strategy from Wharton: Competitive Advantage” and is the co-host of the weekly Sirius Radio show “Mastering Innovation.”
Professor Terwiesch is the co-author of Matching Supply with Demand, a widely used text-book in Operations Management that is now in its third edition. Based on this book, Professor Terwiesch has launched the first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in business on Coursera. By now, well over 250,000 students enrolled in the course. His book, Innovation Tournaments, was published by Harvard Business School Press. The novel, process-based approach to innovation outlined in the book was featured by BusinessWeek, the Financial Times, and the Sloan Management Review and has led to innovation tournaments in organizations around the world.
The evening will commence with a reception, followed by an intimate and personal conversation, and conclude with appetizers, drinks and time to socialize, network or shoot some pool, in a private venue reserved for event guests.
