Mentoring Roundtable Breakfast: Michelle Kristula-Green

The Wharton Club of Northern California is pleased to announce the first event in a new series: The Mentoring Roundtable with Michelle Kristula-Green.

Very senior C-suite executives often have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that they have picked up through experience over the course of their careers, particularly as it relates to managing a career. Being able to tap into that experience and wisdom is invaluable and can have a career-altering impact.

Join us on Friday morning, November 11th for a Mentoring Roundtable Breakfast with Michelle Kristula-Green, the president of Leo Burnett's Asia Pacific region. A 20-year veteran of Burnett, Michelle manages the activity of the region's 23 offices comprised of 1,500 employees in 16 countries.

(In the Mentoring Roundtables--which will generally occur over lunch--the WCNC will host small groups of six to eight current Club members and one senior executive, generally a Wharton alumnus or alumna. This more intimate setting will offer Club members the opportunity to meet and have one-to-one, substantive career management discussions with senior business people who are usually only available in lecture format. We will be attracting a number of different speakers with diverse industry experience.)

Date. Friday, November 11th, 2005
Time. 7:15 - 7:30am. Check-in
7:30am - 9:00am. Roundtable discussion

Due to the small attendance format of this roundtable, it is expected to fill up quickly. If you would like to attend, please register now. If the event is full already, put yourself on the wait list--there is a very good chance that at least the first few people on the wait list will be able to join the roundtable.

Details
- Participation is limited to current Wharton Club members.
- Due to the small attendance nature of the event and our desire to "spread the wealth" around as much as possible, each Club member will be eligible initially to attend only one luncheon a year.
- Sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We will announce new speakers and dates in advance, as well as the date and time the sign-up will open. Be sure to keep your membership current and check your e-mail on a regular basis for announcements about these events.

Michelle Kristula-Green
Michelle Kristula-Green is president of Leo Burnett's Asia Pacific region, managing the activity of the unit's 23 offices comprised of 1,500 employees in 16 countries.

Before assuming that post in February 2004, Michelle served as president and representative director of Beacon Communications, the highly successful partnership with Dentsu resulting from the merger of Leo Burnett and D'Arcy's operations in Japan. She was responsible for the integration of these Publicis Groupe sister companies into one cohesive agency, which now has become part of the Leo Burnett family of companies and continues to report in to Michelle.

The first woman to run a multinational agency in Japan, and one of the only non-Asian agency heads to have proficiency in both Chinese and Japanese, Michelle began her career at Burnett more than 20 years ago and has worked in Chicago, Taiwan, and Tokyo on a wide range of multinational clients as they expanded their businesses into Asia. Under her direction, Beacon continued to grow even in the toughest of economic times, expanded to include both Japanese and multinational clients, and developed into an ideas-centric, creative powerhouse peopled with some of the brightest young talent in Japan.

Michelle has worked with a wide range of multinational clients as they expanded their businesses into Asia, helping businesses effectively localize global brands and globalize local brands.
