As CFO and Board Member of Pixar Animation studios, Lawrence Levy has had a unique insider's view to Pixar's incredible growth story over the past 20 years. Personally recruited by Steve Jobs to Pixar, Lawrence will discuss his career path and how Pixar was able to grow from a small player in the early 90's to an industry leader over the next 10 to 15 years, including:
- How Steve Jobs brought him into the fold at Pixar.
- How Pixar became an entertainment powerhouse.
- What drove the Disney acquisition, and what were the key challenges in making the acquisition a success?
Lawrence will also describe his journey from Silicon Valley executive to his current work in founding the Juniper School, a non-profit bringing meditation and Buddhist of developing the mind to modern culture.

Lawrence LevyBorn in London, England, Lawrence moved to the United States as a teenager. After earning degrees in business at Indiana University and law at Harvard, Lawrence became a partner at Silicon Valley's largest law firm, Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, where he specialized in intellectual property and technology alliances. He went on to become chief financial officer at Electronics for Imaging and then executive vice president, chief financial officer and board member at Pixar Animation Studios where he architected Pixar's business strategy and IPO, and was instrumental in Pixar's sale to Disney. After taking a sabbatical in 2000 to study eastern philosophy, Lawrence co-founded and works full time for the Juniper Foundation, an organization dedicated to bringing Buddhist methods of inner development to modern life. Lawrence lives in Palo Alto, California.
