Effective leadership can be mastered, and at the core of that learning should be a Leader’s Checklist, a complete set of vital leadership principles that provide a clear map for navigating through virtually any leadership moment.
From his development work with hundreds of managers and executives in leadership programs in the U.S. and abroad, and from interviews with managers confronting a range of critical moments, Michael Useem has concluded that their experience points to a core of just 15 mission-critical leadership principles that vary surprisingly little among companies or countries. In this webinar, he identifies and anchors those core principles in the actions of managers facing challenges ranging from financial crisis and driving growth to the rescue of the miners in Chile.
Michael Useem is Professor of Management and Director of the Center for Leadership and Change at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is author of articles and books on leadership and decision making, including
Investor Capitalism,
The Leadership Moment, and
The Go Point. He is co-editor of
Learning from Catastrophes and co-author of
The India Way. He works with a wide range of companies and organizations on leadership, decision making, and governance. His most recent book, published in 2011 by Wharton Digital Press, is
The Leader’s Checklist.
