Rebuilding Together: Wharton & A.T. Kearney

Please join the Wharton Alumni Club of Northern California in partnership with A.T. Kearney for a day of community service on April 25th, 2009.  Working with Rebuilding Together of San Francisco, we will repair the home of a low income resident to allow them to live in safety and comfort.  On the last Saturday in April, thousands of volunteers provide high-quality renovations for nonprofit facilities and schools and repair the homes of low-income, disabled and elderly San Franciscans.  In 2008 over 2000 volunteers renovated 18 homes and 17 facilities  (including schools, community centers, residential hotels, and green spaces serving over 20,000 San Franciscans).  Home owners selected as beneficiaries of this service are nominated by local community organizations and vetted through the Rebuilding Together organization.
 
In partnership with A.T. Kearney, the Wharton Alumni Club will field a team of volunteers prepared to dedicate this ONE DAY to helping an elderly, low-income home owner make improvements to their home to allow them to maintain an independent lifestyle (e.g., general cleaning and repair, installation of ramps, grip bards, etc.).  There are many jobs to tackle on this one day, from general cleaning, to gardening, to painting and light carpentry.  NO SPECIFIC SKILLS are required, only high levels of enthusiasm, energy and elbow grease.  Come meet new friends, learn a new skill and give back to the community.
